Sen. Carpenter wins a Foxconn round for the people

Huge props to Milwaukee State Senator Tim Carpenter

for pushing the Walker administration and its always-troubled Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation to allow - - gasp! - - its board to see the precedent-setting, budget-devouring $3+billion Foxconn contract before voting on it.

That we have to celebrate what should be a Democracy & Public Finance 101 No-Brainer move - - public officials being able to look at before signing a contract which commits vast amounts of public money, state waters and other resources held in common to a business headquartered in Taiwan - - shows how far from traditional Wisconsin values and open government Walker has dragged the state:

Walker's Foxconn cover-up gets worse
And note that playing keep-away with public records is not Scott Walker's first bad public records rodeo:
Editorial: Scott Walker got caught attacking the Wisconsin Idea, lied about it and then got caught lying
Not to mention the records secrecy land out in this summary piece:
Because Scott Walker asked:
Leaked court documents from ‘John Doe investigation’ in Wisconsin lay bare pervasive influence of corporate cash on modern US elections
I will add today's post about Carpenter ands breakthrough at the WEDC to my Foxconn archive, now with posts extending into a fifth month.
