Upcoming public WI sessions on CAFOs, mercury, wetlands, CWD

I thought I'd list a few important, upcoming state environmental meetings gleaned from two sites I check often - - WI DNR News Releases and DNR Hearing Notices Calendar.

*  From the news release site, this session on Chronic Wasting Disease, or CWD:

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. - The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and Wisconsin Conservation Congress will host a public meeting May 22 to discuss the recent discovery of chronic wasting disease in a wild deer in western Eau Claire County.

I have recently posted several items about CWD. One is here.

It may interest people to know that as far as the CAFO hearings the two people listed (Mike and Adam) no longer work in the CAFO program. In fact the vacancy rate is now up to about 50 per cent. The CAFO program is as near meaningless as imaginable. The Bureau head for the CAFO program has been transferred to fishing (no kidding) and the section chief has been destroying the CAFO program since she took over several years ago.
